Not Quite the Fairy Tale Day
Once upon a time there was a happy family enjoying a nice Sunday morning. What could be more fun than Family Photos! (Jeff, you're a good sport!) So I set the timer, ran in the picture. I've got some wicked rug burns to show for it.
Look at Ty. He looks happy right? Feeling good? He had his 3 bowls of Malt o Meal's mock Lucky Charms, so what could be better than that right??
Well, our happy, hyper Ty quickly changed when we got to church. Sydney & I were in the hall (luckily), Ty starts yacking on the floor, the chair, dad's hands. Jeff tried to catch it with a diaper, but a diaper can only hold so much. I owe him big because I sat in the air-conditioned car while he cleaned it all up.
There have been LOTS of these incidents at church lately (by that I mean 3). I now have certain seats I avoid. So we've joined the club...Parents whose kids have yacked in the chapel. The poor guy still has his head in a bucket. And the Malt o Meal is now in the trash. Not quite the perfect day it started out as.

Want to pay $3.57 for Gas??
Ok this is just for folks that live near a Kroger store, like Fry's that has a gas station (& whose gas is as "cheap" as ours).
Maybe you've figured it out. Fry's (Kroger stores) is offering gift cards in the amount of $300, $600 or $1200. If you purchase before July 31st then they add on an additional 10%. Now, these gift cards can be used for gas. So...today the price of gas was $4.07, your gift card saves you 10% so that brings it to $3.67. Then, use your Fry's card & if you've spent $100 then you get a 10 cent discount. So we are at $3.57. What a deal huh? Maybe we can make it through this gas hike.
One more FYI- you can only purchase 1 gift card per Fry's card. I wish I had gone with $600, not $300. :-(

Today I bought the generic cereals...what is this economy doing to us? Man I hope it all turns around soon. Too rough for too many right now.

A Few Updates
There was a Conan episode that had Jeff laughing for days. The episode is no longer on his website, so I am taking down the link, but did you catch it? It was Conan saying that the Polygamist Wives are stealing his hairdo. It was hilarious!
A few quick updates: Yesterday Sydney started standing up for a couple seconds on her own. Today she was holding onto her piano (like a walker) and walked from her room to the living room. She is getting too big. I think Ty picked out her outfit. Nice match, eh?

I got the job I have been hoping for. I will be working Tuesday & Thursday. It will be nice because Jeff will be with the kids the majority of the time. There is just a gap from about 11:30 - 2pm that I will have to work out once school starts up. If anyone wants to take my kids for that time, I will take yours 2 1/2 hours on Mon, Wed or Fri. Let me know if you are interested in a swap.
Last night we had our annual ward swim party at the Buckeye Town Pool. It was so much fun. And, despite a few injuries Ty did so well. His swimming (the going under part) is much improved from last summer. He starts swim lessons in a week, so we are looking forward to that.

Back from Vacation
We got back from our trip to Florida this week. What a great vacation! It started with first class on the plane & just got better from there. My sister got married, so that was our main reason for being there. They rented a HUGE, beautiful beach house that we stayed in. It was so nice to enjoy the ocean & sand. The wedding was just gorgeous, my sister looked beautiful & happy.
Not only did we enjoy time with my family, but Jeff's parents came as well. They were a ton of help the day of the wedding both in the kitchen & on the barbeque.
Father's Day was spent at my sisters (& now new hubbies) home. We played in her pool & enjoyed visiting with family & Florida friends.
Then Monday we headed to Disney World's Magic Kingdom with Jeff's parents & our children. It was hot & muggy, but so much fun. It was so nice to have a selfish day to let it all be about my kids. I only went on 1 ride without Ty (Space Mountain), it was our "date ride". We took Ty on Splash Mountain, but other than that it was all kiddie stuff...and so much fun! Both our kids just loved the parade & fireworks. Grandma J got Ty a souvenir hat to go with his Buzz Lightyear costume. I'll work on getting a photo, because it is just a crack up.
Thanks for all the fun guys! If you have pictures, please share them!

Mum, Mum, Mum, Mum
That's me, Mum. Sydney said her first word yesterday & it was Mum. I feel so honored. Later in the day "Da, da, da" started. She only did it once, but we are going to count it.
Also, I was feeding her snacks and she was very vocal when her plate was empty, "AHHH!". I asked if she wanted more & motioned in sign language for more. She repeated the sign. So it was a big day for her yesterday! I've been trying to sign to her more. Glad it's made a difference. It amazes me what a good comunicator she is. If she wants (or doesn't want) something you will know! Maybe those skills just come with being female?
Ty got pink eye AGAIN! I really have not been counting, but that has got to be close to 8 times. I swear, he just has to look at someone with pink eye & he'll get it. Today has been a not so fun day of hand washing, towel washing, sheet washing, toy washing.....I really hate this! The worst part for me is that I am such a germaphobe that my eyes are red, itchy & painful. I know I don't have it (yet), but the mind is a powerful thing. Last time my eyes acted like this & for 2 weeks I thought I had pink eye. Finally a pharmasist told me my eyes were dry & that the illness (untreated) only would last 7 days. After hearing that, they cleared right up. Yes, the mind IS a powerful thing!

Gotta Love Recipe Group!
My dear friend Holly brought Recipe Group to us Buckeye Gals. It is absolutely fabulous! There are 14 girls in the group. On the first Wed of the month we get together, bring a dish & recipe cards. Check out the cards, they are beyond cute! This month I hosted. The theme was Summer Meals, specified as anything light, refreshing, maybe healthy. Preferably meals that don't require the oven. (Do you guys try not to turn your oven on it the summer? or is that an AZ thing? or maybe a Bridgette thing?) Back to the story: it was the best night. It was so fun to have a house filled with friends. The food (and drink) was amazing. I am so grateful to have such a great group of friends to laugh & bond with.

Here is the recipe I did. The ingredients sound really wierd together, but give it a try. It's my new favorite lunch.
Peanut, Peach, ’n Pineapple Wrap

Peanut, Peach, ’n Pineapple Wrap
1 can (8 1/4 ounces) sliced peaches in juices, drained
1 can (8 ounces) pineapple tidbits in juice, drained
1/2 cup red or green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 4 (10-inch) honey-wheat or flour tortillas
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
3 cups lettuce (deeper-green variety), shredded
Preparation:In a medium bowl, combine peaches, pineapple, bell pepper and cinnamon. Warm the tortillas. Spread 2 tablespoons of peanut butter on the bottom half of each tortilla, leaving room on the edges. Spoon equal portions of the peach mixture over peanut butter, then top with lettuce. Fold & Enjoy!

Thanks mealtime.org for the great recipe! I totally reccommend starting a Recipe Group. It will be your most fun get-a-way of the month!

Need a good laugh?
So it's really late...for me. But right now laughing sounds more fun than sleeping. Enjoy!
I think animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.
Middle age is when your age starts to show around your middle.
What you call dog with no legs? Don't matter what you call him, he ain't gonna come.
Hard work never killed anybody, but why take a chance?
I told the doctor I broke my leg in two places. He told me to quit going to those places.
After twelve years of therapy my psychiatrist said something that brought tears to my eyes. He said, "No hablo ingles."
