New Calling

Our stake just went through some changes. We are in a newly created ward which is exciting, fun & scary. Today I was called as the Relief Society 1st Counselor. I feel really inadequate, and unprepared for a tough, tough calling. I want to be better, and I know I have potential to be better. Hopefully I won't make too many mistakes along the way.
The Relief Society Pres said in sacrament mtg that she didn't know me, but knew she was to request me.  Maybe if she did know me I would be sitting safe back in YW :-) I am going to miss those sweet laurels so much!

Fish aka wubbies

The set up:
Ty has 3 little tetras (wubby, wiggles & whiplash). They stay in his room.
Our neighbors went on vacation. They brought us their goldfish & tank to feed while they are gone. Just to even things up the visiting fish are in Sydney's room.
The Story:
Ty asked if he could borrow the camera. I went up stairs to find him taking a picture of his fish in his room & running to Sydney's room to show "her" fish the digital screen, so that they could meet each other. The digital picture only stays on the screen for a few seconds. So I was watching him snap, bolt to her room, say, "look, oh man!" and then repeating again & again. It was hysterical. Then I showed him how to bring up the last picture taken...and the fun ended.

Girl's Camp

Jeff & I were invited to go to Girl's Camp this year as 1 of 2 4th year couples. In our stake the 4th year has it traditions of being the coolest year at camp. They go away from camp LoMia, stay at a KOA & do their own adventures. Then they back to LoMia just in time to join in for testimonies, skits and a few pranks.
This year went to a Rock Climbing Gym:

To an observatory and saw Saturn. We went a long, easy hike as we told of Lehi & his families travels. The hike included hiking into lava tubes. They were amazing & well worth the drive to go check out.
On the way back to camp the girls all spent a few hours shooting:

The Koa camping was really fun. The girls loved the park & we had a few good teaching opportunities as well.

playing at the play ground
While we were up there camping it was COLD! the night low was 24 degrees. Certainly cooler than we are use to. At times it was trying, I certainly felt strength beyond my own when I needed it. We are told we will be "taking over" as 4th year leaders, but its an assignment we are looking forward to.

While Jeff & I were away at Girl's Camp, Grandma & Grandpa J had our kiddos. Ty learned to swim. Sydney got a few shades darker by their pool & here are picts from their community waterpark. What a fun time enjoying the valleys heat!

Ty's Preschool Graduation

Ty had the most wonderful preschool teacher...Ms. Karen. She was the same size as the little students & they just adored her.
They started by singing: "I have a name, oh yes I do. I have a name, how about you?" as they each introduced themselves.
Here is Ty getting his certificate:
Ty's best friend for most of the year was Simone. She has a sweet family & we were able to get together outside of school a few times.  He spent lots of his free time making her pictures & bracelets...most of which never made it out of the house.

Thanks to Grandma J, Grandpa, Aunt Jenna & Uncle Wyatt, Aunt Beth & 3 of the cousins for coming! Ty certainly felt loved!
