Our Little Hitch

Remember how lovely Will Smith looked after eating shell fish? Well today we had our own reminder of the importance of benadryl.

Sydney decided to snack on a nut/cranberry mixture & it did a number on her face.

I haven't been able to figure out what exactly she is allergic too, but I am guessing it was something in that mix. What do you think?

It's a little hard to look at her right now. I am hoping she'll  look better when she wakes up.

A Very Special Date

Today, October 20th is great for many reasons.

First, it was the day I moved out to Arizona. This has always been our land of opportunity; a place to start our family, afford a home, love our community, endless sun & unbelievably good friends.

Second, it was the due date of our first child. It was the day I dreamed about for 9 months. Lucky for me the doctor gave me the last week off & took him early.

Third, it is the birthday of our beautiful daugther. Sydney turned two today. She was very aware that it was her day & was SO excited. With each gift she opened she squealed with excitment. Grandpa J & Uncle Jay were here to celebrate with us. They both agreed that they've never seen someone so excited to open a gift.

This was our year of low-key birthdays. I had to work, but stopped in during my shift for the gift opening. After Ty & I got home & Sydney woke up we took a ride over to Estrella. It was beautiful as always, but not long enough. We came home to dinner, cake & ice cream. It was a good day & Sydney felt super special.

Today is Ty's 5th Birthday!

Thanks so much to all of you that sent gifts and called to talk with him. He has had such a special day!

Ty is a great kid. He loves to laugh and have fun. He always wants to do what is right. If Sydney gets in trouble, HE always wants to point out the he wasn't doing it. His favorite things are Spiderman, his baby Tiger, going to the Zoo, dinosaurs and crafts.

At age 5 he looks like my 5 year old twin. He eats like me too...poor kid.

Ty is very cautious, especially in looking out for Sydney. He mainly worries about dogs & cars/ the street. If he thinks someone is in danger & he can't help, he will just start sobbing. He has  such a big heart.

Ty is a great brother and son. We love you Ty! Happy Birthday!

It was almost a year ago that one of my favorite & best friends moved away. It's hard to find people who will save you on a bad day, be there when you are down & love you at your worst. It's even harder to let those people go once you find them.

Since our goodbye I've missed her terribly. Talking to her or about her only starts the water works, so I try to avoid it.  But not today...I got to see her during her airport layover.  I wish I could have kidnapped her & brought her back to my house to live. Instead I'll just look forward to our next reunion & hope someday we'll live close again.
