Halloween '10

The start to off our Halloween adventures there was our church (ward's) Harvest Festival.

 This was the only decent picture I got from the actual party. I should have left my camera home!

 On a 'nothing to do' Friday we headed to a pumpkin farm where the kids saw & fed animals, played games, rode a train. It was HOT, but so fun for them. After searching & searching, they each picked their perfect pumpkin.

 We went on the internet to get carving ideas. Ty saw flames & just had to do it. He was so happy with the results.

 Sydney went with the cat, but she let me handle the carving. We carved them Friday night, by Monday morning they had completely molded...that doesn't happen in cold-country right?

 Our next Halloween adventure was to a near-by town's Carnival. We got there late because one of my oldest friends was AMAZING in the Sound of Music. It turned into a (super fun) 7 hour trip across 'town'. Anyway, the kids were so excited about the rides. Sydney really wanted to ride the coaster & to my surprise was nothing but smiles.

 Since we closed down the carnival they let us take & decorate as many pumpkins as we could handle. We were ready to start our own pumpkin farm after that!

 And last, but not least. The cousins (well, most of them) came to our place for Halloween night. The grown kids played games while the little kids passed out candy. They did a little room-to-room trick-or-treating, but didn't show interested in going out. It was really nice to start November w/o buckets of candy around for a change.

Not All Crafts are a Success

Saturday night Ty told me he was going to make a surprise in the morning. With the rush to get off to church, he had to wait. When we returned home he let me know that we needed to gather black paper & tape so he could make a ninja costume.

He let me know what to do step by step. When it was finished he declared, "It's Perfect!"

This was before we realized it didn't work with church pants.

And Sydney wanted to be a fairy. She loved it & danced happily until she saw the mirror & knew she looked ridiculous. Funny kids.

Sydney's- I think it was a test to see which markers we could chuck.

Ty says this is in South America (he's into continents).
