Yes, Another Birthday Post

Sydney turns 1 today. Seems like all I post about anymore is birthdays! She had a blast opening her gifts this morning from everyone who sent them (and her mom & dad). Hopefully through the pictures you will get the feel of her excitement. I love having a girly girl!

Party Time

The kids had their combined birthday party this week. It was much anticipated (by Ty). And I think it lived up to his expectations. So many of Ty & Sydney's friends were able to come.

Jeff kept the kids entertained with some fun "field day" games. I made the pinata. I thought it would burst at Sydney's swing, but luckily it held up for quite a few kids. The cooler was filled that great tiny circle ice. Sydney spent about an hour hovering over the cooler eating the ice, adding dirt, and eating it again.

As you can imagine the kids have been in heaven with all their new toys and games. I think we need to add a second story to make room for all their stuff!

Happy Birthday to You!

Ty turns 4 today! It's been an exciting day for him. We started the morning with presents. With each rip of the paper he gave a great, drawn out, excited "WOW!" He loved them all. He got Better Batter Baseball which he has been asking for. When he opened it he yelled, "I love Better Batter Baseball!!" 24 batteries later...He's having a great time playing with all the gifts.

Sydney's recovering from her 1st shiner. She hit a table.

Camping Out

Last night was my 1st (and probably last) camping trip with just me & the kids. That's right, no hubby. He had a volleyball tournament he had to stick around for.
It was our ward camp out, at the foot of the mountain in the beautiful open desert. I am a total camper. I love the sitting around a warm campfire on a cool night visiting with friends & family. I just never knew that single parent camping would be so much more work!
The highlight for Sydney was digging out a snake hole.
Ty-hanging out with "the guys" and eating all the cookies & chips his heart desired...for breakfast.
The not so great parts were: the wind- oh it was bad. Ty woke up to the tent ceiling flat on top of him. And of course it got cold, which for us thin blooded AZ folks is about 50 degrees...brrr!
The dog- it kept to itself, but Ty still was screaming (no joke) trying to climb up me like a tree. At one point I was holding Sydney & he was freaking out so much, he was on my shoulder & put his dusty shoes on Sydney's face just to get himself out of the dogs reach. I hope he gets over this soon!
The tarantula- It's size was at least the span of my outstretched hand. After we spotted it I ran to the tent to make sure all the "doggie doors" and electrical outlet entries were all zipped up.
So I learned that camping without Jeff is not nearly as fun, but it was still a good time & a fun adventure.

Here is Ty playing with "the guys" (aka any group of friends) Ty's the one in the green shirt.

Our Busy Life

It's been a while since I have posted. Things have just gotten so busy as we welcome back Prison Break, House, Without a Trace, CSI Miami, Survivor, The Office, Greys, Amazing Race & The Unit. And we like Fringe too. I love the fall when evenings can revolve around watching TV. And all that with no DVR, pretty impressive eh?

Getting to the pictures...This was our lovely Sunday. The kids were a bit resistant to go to church. I wish I got better pictures of Ty & Sydney because they both looked so stinkin' cute in his suit & her dress from Vanna....next time. Ty was in the Primary Sacrament Program for the first time. It was fun to see him up there, totally subdued, picking his little nose. He had one line he shared with other kids, but we saw him lip-syncing to the songs too.

Our wonderful friends the Wrights came over for dinner after. They haven't been over since my birthday in July! (except when Tifany stopped in to take my kids when I was sick 2 weeks ago...she's a lifesaver!!) It was nice to visit with them.

Tifany brought the best desert ever. Even Sydney approved. She likes to hang out in the fridge while I am in the kitchen. Don't call CPS...I mean with the door open, rearranging things. So I didn't think anything of it until I looked to see she was fulling enjoying the desert. Is that a guilty "you caught me" look, or what?

And last but not least, check out these cute bobble-heads.

Party is Off

******Update******
I've been sick for days with the flu so no partying for me tomorrow. I've got a migraine to work off then maybe we can think about a postponement.

****Previous Post****
We had the most fun Saturday night! Our friends from another ward gathered up maybe 40 people & met at the Tartesso Sports Park. Not the one we usually go to, but the awesome Sports Park. We had such a good time. The adults had 8 on 8 Volleyball games going. The kids played in the water, on the play equipment & then played next to the adults in the sand.

So, for all of our friends & their friends & their friends, let's get together! This coming Saturday, Sept 20th, 5-9pm at the Tartesso Sports Park. Bring your own food, drinks & a Volleyball if you have one.

To get there: up Sun Valley Parkway. take the Tartesso left. In the 1st turn-a-bout take the 2nd exit. Go straight, straight at the stop sign. Once you get to the next turn-a-bout take the 2nd exit & that's the park entrance. Meet up at the pavilion by the smaller park & the splash park.

Let me know if you can make so we make sure there is a big enough group.

Forgot Ty's swimsuit, luckily he had his potty training backup!
That's Jeff hitting!

The park, similar to the other Tartesso Park.

Our poor girly working off her fever :-(
