Easters 2010

Saturday Evening we colored Eggs:

Sunday morning we woke to excited children. Sydney wanted to put her Easter dress on right away. Ty wanted to put on his new hat. 

Sydney insisted that we needed to leave the Easter bunny an egg to eat. So here they are checking out the remaining shell.

The Easter bunny left some good treasures behind.

The eggs were then spotted in the formal living rooms, so the kids went hunting.

Sydney was excited to play with her new dress-up clothes.

This was the 1st holiday (in 6 years) that we have family living nearby.

We headed over to Grandpa & Grandma's house for a great Easter dinner, gifts from the grandparents & a photo shoot.

Easter Celebrations

We love our towns annual Easter Celebration. This year the cousins joined us for the egg hunt & festivities.

The little kids egg hunt was a hit for Sydney.

The egg hunt for Ty & Lukas' age group was a mad house. Ty got 1 egg. They were all swooped up in seconds. The both had fun though.

We are loving Springtime. Usually its really hot by now, but it has been beautiful! Tomorrow I heard the high is 58! We might even be able to hide chocolate in eggs this year without it going liquid during the hunt...how nice!

Disneyland

Day 2 of vacation we headed to Disneyland with Grandma & Grandpa.

The first ride we went on was the Matterhorn. Sydney was tall enough, so we took her on. She was sitting in my lap, so I couldn't see her face. I was getting nervous for her with the speed, scary eyes & abominable snowman. When the ride stopped I was fully expecting tears & then she shouts, "that was fun!" Ty was sitting with grandpa & came over to say, "I do NOT want to do that again!"

 

During the street dance party our kids got lots of attention. They were rocking out the whole time & the Disney dancers just kept coming over to them. Winnie the Pooh tried to get Sydney dancing with him, but that freaked her out, so Ty filled in.

We only had to wait 1 hour to meet the princesses. Sydney had been so excited to meet them, but took her nap while in line. I should have woke her up when we were close to the front, but I was afraid the line continued inside. She was awake about 20 seconds before meeting sleeping beauty.

Sydney still fears Mickey Mouse. She did not want to go to Disneyland when I first mentioned it so I told her Mickey was at DisneyWorld right now, not Disneyland. She would repeat that over & over before going. "Mickey is at Disney World, but the Princesses are at Disneyland."

While at the zoo (the day before) Sydney decided to become potty trained. Not great timing the day before heading to Disney. While at Disney she wanted to go potty every time Ty did & was dry all day. She's stuck with it since we got back & has done amazing.

Spring Break in SD

Last weekend was the start of Spring Break. Jeff had a tournament to work, so I took the kiddos & headed to San Diego to visit family & have lots of fun!

We started the morning with a visit to my grand parent’s house. My parents & kids only stayed a few minutes then headed off to the Zoo. Here are some picts my mom took.

I think the kids liked the play equipment at the zoo as much as they liked the animals. Ty loves that their zoo has elephants.

I stayed at my grand parents for a few hours, went to the mall (by myself!), then crashed a wedding for Ryan Sattley.

Being a young convert I was sort of the ward orphan. There were lots of families that took me under their wing. The Sattley’s welcomed me, taught me & became a huge part of my teenage life. It was fun to see them all, meet spouses & kids and catch up with an old bishop, YW leaders and friends.
That night we met up with "Aunt" Sandi for dinner. It was a great start to a fun vacation!

Sledding, Snowboarding, a Little R & R

2 weeks ago we took a family trip up to Flagstaff. Some friends from our town have a large cozy home up there. They let us use it (once again) for Jeff's birthday weekend get-away.

On Friday the kids went sledding, made snowballs, snowmen & snowforts for what seemed like hours! I was still unbelievably sore, so Jeff did all the work & I took the picts.

We LOVE that the snowy cold mountains are only 2 1/2 hours away. Not close enough to replenish snow gear every year, so the kids wore a mod-podge of what our friends have.

On Saturday Jeff & his friend Duane took off for a day of snowboarding. They had a blast together.

Meanwhile Leah & I had the kids back at the house. They played so well! Movies, games, make-believe, they were cute to watch.

For me it was really good to get away. The surgery was a lot harder on my body than I anticipated. Luckily Jeff's mom took care of everyone the 1st week, because I was completely helpless & loopy. Getting away meant forced relaxing & time to heal...which I needed.

This last picture is Jeff pulling Sydney up the hill...as she slowly slid out. Oh, I love it!
